Special Behavior Safaris

Join me in observing the behavior of African mammals in Africa's premier national parks and reserves. Conducted several times a year, our safaris are intended for those who are seriously interested in understanding the behavior of African animals — especially the ungulates, carnivores, and primates.

Unlike the typical tour, where the main objective is to see the "Big Five", stopping just long enough to snap a picture or two of the other wildlilfe, we'll spend time observing all the different mammals we encounter — and birds too, if they're doing something interesting!

The participants on our safaris should be prepared to sit and watch animals behave, possibly for hours under the best conditions (such as at a waterhole or other center of animal activity). It is axiomatic that the longer you stay in one place and make yourself inconspicuous, the more interesting behavior you're likely to observe. However, there should be no worries about becoming a bored captive audience; watching animals that are doing little of particular interest soon gives me the urge to move on to the next site.
